Theatre Kingston produces new and existing work, the TK Fringe Festival, a series of educational engagement activities for adults and children. We collaborate with local theatre practitioners to build a strong cultural voice in the region. Our primary goal is to give our audiences examples of the art form at a calibre seen on the stages of the major Canadian urban centres. We are driven by the mission to strengthen the city’s theatre community and to allow the possibility for our stories and our artists to move beyond the city limits into the Canadian cultural landscape.
Theatre Kingston presents work at various venues across the city, including the Grand Theatre, the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, The Tett Center for Creativity and Learning and many more. The company has been producing theatre for 32 years, introducing Kingston to some of Canada’s best plays and playwrights and supporting the voices of our own local playwrights. We strive to provide emerging artists in the community with opportunities to work with and connect to professional artists from all over Canada with an emphasis on supporting local talent.
