All parents are a little stupid. They need to make themselves that way or they'll go insane worrying about all the things they secretly know to be true." - Concord Floral, Jordan Tannahill
Concord Floral is a million square foot abandoned greenhouse and a hangout for neighbourhood kids. But something has happened there. Something nobody wants to talk about. Concord Floral re-imagines Giovanni Boccaccio’s medieval allegory The Decameron in a contemporary Canadian suburb, in which ten teens must flee a plague they have brought upon themselves. We recognize these teenagers, as Concord Floral zeros in on both intensely personal topics for contemporary millennials, like dating apps and cyber-bullying, while also exploring universal difficulties of finding a community of one’s own.
