SPRING NEW PLAY READING
Since 1998, Theatre Kingston has offered playwrights the opportunity to have their new plays 'workshopped' with our New Play Readings, and have treated Kingston audiences to a glimpse of some never before seen or heard works-in-progress by some of Canada's leading and most promising playwrights. This valuable program combines professional dramaturgy and direction with professional actors in a theatre setting, to publicly read works that are on their way to production. Often, Theatre Kingston has gone on to further develop and/or eventually produce these new works.

The readings, though professional, are intended to be informal and accessible, and audiences are encouraged to provide feedback and/or ask questions about the work, the playwright or the creative process. A fun, exciting, unique and valuable experience, our New Play Readings are not to be missed.

2007 New Play Reading: Saturday 2 June @ 3pm

Theatre Kingston presents the first public reading of OLD ENOUGH TO KILL, a new play by John Lazarus -- a dark comedy about Fleance, the boy who escaped Macbeth's murderers to become the future King of Scotland.

(NOTE: To circumvent construction on Union Street, enter either from the east via Arch Street or from the south via Stuart Street)

ATTENTION PLAYWRIGHTS:
We are always accepting script submissions for consideration. Our commitment to new works is not isolated to simply production. We also provide script analysis and criticisms for new works, as well as a forum for readings, workshops and/or development.

If you would like to submit script to Theatre Kingston, contact us or email us email us with your name, title, phone number, email address and attach your script (rich text format or WORD format, please).
